Saw my first C8 up close. I had seen them on the freeway, but not close up. Really is quite nice and not quite as boring as photos seem to make them. Really really makes my C4 look old fashioned and classic at the same time.
Speaking of the C4 the new plug wires seem to have fixed my drivability issue. I am really happy it wasn’t something worse and have to send it off to the mechanic. Drove down to the car show lovely and in and out of traffic getting breakfast and driving home. I am really happy to have a good running car again.

I had the opposite experience, I work on auto shows so I saw the burgundy one the brought to the SF show, then I never saw another, people buy Porsches here. I saw a burgundy one in the wild yesterday, first one. I’d buy a C7 if I wanted a newer Vette.

I’ve only seen one up close so far. Same color, which I love.
I was surprised how big it seemed, but I thought it looked better in person than pics overall.

Yes! I was hoping those wires were going to end up being the problem, and not just a good thing to add to your list.
makes my C4 look old fashioned and classic at t he same time
I saw a C4 the other day, mostly fr om the side, and it got me thinking about how the C4 is still undoubtedly recognizable as a Corvette, but it’s toned down so much from the curves of the C3. I t’s styling is so clean, so subtle, so modest, so mature.
Oh and speaking of C3s, I saw one the other day in chameleon/color-shift paint, parked UNDER A PINE TREE in somebody’s yard. GAH! It didn’t appear to be for sale, but I was tempted to stop and make an offer, just to rescue it .

Yeah I mean if I was to spend my own money on a newer Corvette it would be a C6Z. I don’t care for the C8 personally, but it was much nicer in person.

Yeah was interesting comparing it to my C4 across the parking lot. I am surprised they didn’t fit the targa top to go in the frunk, but I guess what space it takes up in the trunk is made up by having a frunk. That said I’d rather it be somewhere it wouldn’t get scratched by my throwing stuff in the trunk.

And more importantly, glad the plug wires seem to have solved your issue!

Me too. I am happy to be able to drive some and not wrench for a while.
The C4 really is the genesis of the modern Vette shape, but with out all the pomp and circumstance of the C6 and C7. the C5 is kind of in a weird place between them styling wise, but I do like them.
Oooooh that sounds like a neat C3. You should do it!

I drove by there again the other day and it was gone. The tree was between the road and the car , so I very much doubt they were trying to sell it anyway. But I feel better now; it’s probably in their garage or something, safe and sound from th e sap and pine needles .

I saw my first C8 the other day and it’s honestly the first generation Corvette I’ve ever thought is ugly. It didn’t help that it was trailed by a pair of Vipers. The front end is just so tall and stubby looking. I thought the rear would be the part I disliked, but man...I was wrong. The C4 is my favorite. It’s proportionally perfect and so low. The silhouette is so good that it didn’t need any other vents, creases or bulges to look exquisite.
